6 Years of IMGE

IMGE recently turned six, and it’s a chance for us to reflect on how far we’ve come.

We began as a start-up agency – five employees around a conference table in D.C. We set out to build a full-service digital agency that did everything in-house, and prioritized building a culture of transparency, investing in technology, and putting our clients first.

And that’s exactly what we have achieved. We’ve now grown into a team that produces some of the best digital corporate, political, and advocacy work in the nation, for Fortune 25 brands and national campaigns.

Through the use of tools like DriveAction, IMGE is turning our clients’ supporters into online advocates on a massive scale. Built in-house, DriveAction enables users to seamlessly contact their legislators on issues that matter; driving action that fuels change. From a single interface, users can select whatever form of contact they are most comfortable completing – whether that’s an email, a social media post, or a telephone call. For one of our clients, we used DriveAction to send more than 114,000 letters to members of Congress in support of a single bill. We had a huge year in 2018. We updated our identity through a comprehensive rebranding process. Between candidates, outside groups and IEs, and committees, we worked in 34 states on 115 campaigns across our political and advocacy clients. Our national advocacy campaign helped pass major criminal justice reform, and we built an army of more than a quarter million advocates, who won victories in Washington and on small city councils. Through the work of our growing team, we sent more than 82 million emails and 2.5 million SMS messages.

We also made waves throughout the industry in 2018 with original research into how email providers may have suppressed Republican messages during the election cycle. We took a theory that many digital political operatives subscribe to and backed it up with hard data. Our conclusions were stunning – you can see for yourself here.

But now we’re looking ahead – with a growing team comes growing offerings for our clients in 2019. We are in the process of building a new Motion Design team that will help IMGE tell engaging stories for brands of all stripes through the evolving medium of animation.

We owe a great deal of gratitude to our clients, vendors, employees, and friends who have been with us on this journey – thank you for your support of IMGE.

IMGE has come a long way since 2013, but it’s just the beginning. We have big plans in store for 2019, 2020, and beyond. Stay tuned.
