How We Mobilized Digital Advocates to Fight Ocean Pollution

To raise awareness of the environmental dangers of open-loop scrubber pollution in Australian waters, SeaChange Alliance partnered with IMGE to launch a high-impact influencer campaign that turned education into advocacy.

The Challenge

SeaChange Alliance needed to educate the public about the environmental dangers of open-loop scrubber pollution while driving concrete advocacy actions to stop the practice.

Our Approach

We activated three mission-aligned creators to tell compelling stories about ocean conservation and corporate accountability. From personal diving experiences to science-backed breakdowns, their content brought the issue to life, driving conversation, pressure, and action. Posts were strategically timed around key moments like World Oceans Day to maximize attention.

Results

The campaign generated nearly 500K in reach, 27K engagements, 975 petition clicks, and over 400 petition signatures. One creator alone drove over 300K in reach and 797 clicks. The effort earned $82.9K in estimated media value, more than triple the campaign's spend, and helped elevate SeaChange Alliance's call to #StopScrubberDumping.
