Eat healthier. Drink more water. Hit the gym every day.
It’s that time of year again when we all make a list of resolutions, promising ourselves that THIS year we’ll actually keep them up.
Let’s be honest – it probably isn’t.
You may be binging carbs and Netflix by January 3, but there are some resolutions you can keep next year. And they’ll make your digital game stronger than ever.
Check out our five New Year’s Resolutions for digital marketers in 2019:
Why would anyone take the time to read paragraphs of text when they could watch a 6 second video conveying the exact same message? They wouldn’t, which is why video should be a major part of your content strategy in 2019.
I know what you’re thinking – it takes a lot more resources to make a video than to draft a social post. While that is true, you don’t need a huge budget to leverage video. And since video will take up an estimated 80 percent of all online traffic by 2020, you can’t afford not to utilize video.
You can create the best content in the world, but it won’t do you any good if no one ever sees it. That’s why you should give web push a go in 2019.
You may recognize web push as those pop up boxes in your browser asking if you’re cool with receiving notifications from a specific website. Web push is a less intrusive way to get content in front of your audience. It doesn’t ask users to submit their personal information, so people are less hesitant to sign up. It also feeds content to users while they go about their usual browsing habits. Users are more likely to click through to your content and don’t feel like you are interrupting them just to tell them about email sender names or your latest case study.
Chances are, you don’t have hours to spend answering online inquiries everyday. Thanks to chatbots, you don’t have to.
Chatbots respond to messages instantaneously and operate on a 24 hour basis. That means users get the information they are looking for when they want it, not when you are on the clock. Bots also ensure users receive correct and consistent information about your brand, every time.
And did we mention that chatbots integrate across multiple platforms? Because they do. So all this applies to those Facebook messages you receive a thousand notifications for on any given day.
Digital marketers spend a lot of time planning out content for the platforms we know and love: email, social media, blogs, and perhaps the occasional podcast. But there is a platform that remains largely untapped by the majority of marketers, and it could be a game changer for your content strategy in 2019.
SMS is the process of sending marketing messages to users via text. It’s the most personal communication channel. In fact, users are more likely to open and respond to a text message from an unknown sender than they are to open an email with the same unknown sender.
SMS boasts higher open rates, quicker response times, and more conversions. It worked for us, and we believe it can work for you too in 2019.
There are constantly new digital tools hitting the market that promise to streamline your operations, solve all your problems, and end world hunger. But when it comes to platforms, more isn’t always better, and platform fees start to add up.
Figuring out which platforms are essential and which you can live without can be tricky, so we did the work for you. Don’t worry, you can thank us later.
Our ride-or-die tools for 2019 are Slack, G Suite, Zapier, Dialpad, and Iterable. Want to know why? Click here to find out.
